“Transformation in Jesus”
Sin is merciless and robs a man, a woman, or a child of their birthright, which is to live in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24). A zebra does not have the capacity to change its stripes any more than a speckled trout can remove its spots. They were born that way (after their own kind) and will live out their very existence in those respective forms. Oh, but God! The loving God that we Christians serve made man differently. Unlike the creatures of the Earth, God made man in His own image; in His own likeness. Therefore, we were always intended to “BE LIKE HIM.” However, as a result of the fall of man (through Adam’s sin), every man is born with a sinful nature. Miraculous birth; sinful nature. Cute baby; sinful nature. Under no circumstance can a parent live holy enough to prevent their adorable newborn from being delivered without the sinful nature. That is precisely why it was necessary for Jesus to answer the Father’s call to come to Earth to redeem us. It is through the blood Jesus shed on the cross at Calvary that transforms us. Paul told the Romans in Romans 12:2 to “… not be conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Our whole way of thinking must be changed; not just by how we consider the things we do or say but also by how we even think about Jesus! This transformation causes us to have (1) wisdom; (2) a loving heart; (3) a willing spirit; (4) a forgiving spirit; (5) a teachable spirit; and (6) a humble spirit. The “change” equips us with the Holy Spirit who keeps us from falling when we make the effort to shun evil. Of course, we must also recognize that “mind renewal” is not just for “babes in Christ.” Even the mature saints need it for “transformational continuity.” Allow the Holy Spirit to continually refresh you as a wonderful reminder that JESUS IS LORD! |
“Glorious Transformations”
Salvational Glory (Death to Life). This is the transformational glory of Jesus that occurs at the point of salvation and lasts a lifetime. This glory costs the believer nothing but acceptance of Jesus as Savior. · 2 Corinthians 4:6, “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” · 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; Behold, all things are become new.” · Romans 12:1, “I beseech you therefore, brethren…that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” Manifested Glory (Faith Walk). This level of transformation is different than that which is received at salvation. This intense glory (often called Shekinah glory) requires advanced citizenship in the Kingdom of God. It necessitates absolute surrender to the will of God. · 2 Chronicles 5:14, “…the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.” · Isaiah 6:1,3 “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and His train filled the temple. 3 “…Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory. Resurrected Glory (Fall to Restoration). This amazing glory is reminiscent of the resurrected Jesus. It is the wonderment of His forgiving power to restore a Christian from a backslidden position. · Jeremiah 3:14, “Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord, for I am married unto you…” · 1 Corinthians 6:9,11, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? And such were some of you: but ye are washed…ye are sanctified;..ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus…” |
